LIMI feu S/S 2013
Paris...
LIMI Feu Spring/Summer 2013
Sorry to keep posting so many videos — this one is just too good to miss.
At once androgynous and feminine... very sexy...
Personally, I think it's time for the Yamamotos to do a family collaboration...

Back In Black...
Black is modest and arrogant at the same time. Black is lazy and
easy - but mysterious. But above all black says this: "I don’t bother
you - don’t bother me".

Remembering Keith Haring...

Today should have been Keith Haring's birthday, but we lost him too soon. Anyone who grew up in NYC during the eighties has lived with Keith Haring as part of the urban landscape, his public artworks appearing frequently on buildings, sidewalks and playgrounds. He was an artist who took graffiti to a new level and taught New Yorkers to embrace street art. I miss his work and continue to look for it on a regular basis. Whenever I come across a bit, usually in and around SoHo, I get the overwhelming feeling that everything is right with the world. That's one powerful gift he's left us.
Thank you, Keith. Wish you were here...

The apple doesn't fall far...
My father studying abroad in Madrid, Spain (1963)
Dad moved from Sicily to Brooklyn, then Queens, with my grandparents, finishing high school in the NYC public school system. After college, he went back to Europe for a year of study in Spain and, later, received his Master's Degree in Foreign Language (Spanish) from Hunter College in Manhattan, where he met my mom, who had also moved here from southern Italy with her family. Mom received her Master's Degree in French. I was their first child — born and raised in NYC.
Dad's the one with the pinstriped jacket and the book. I believe he's even wearing an ascot; hence, my proclivity for nerdy, intellectual types.
